Morgan Guers (she/her) graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a combined concentration in International Relations and a minor in Legal Studies. In her undergraduate education, she started and chaired the Political Science Association on campus, maintained a high academic standing, and wrote a year-long senior thesis on the topic of court packing within the Arizona State Supreme Court. Subsequently, she earned departmental distinction in Political Science, college honors, and was named a Jacob Albright Scholar for being at the top of her graduating class. Since graduation, Morgan has studied abroad in Barcelona where she interned with Sustainability Worldwide Center 2050 to curate and research sustainability projects that would provide for the betterment of the quality of life for people globally while also working for her local county District Attorney’s office as a victim advocate. Currently, in ASU’s SJHR MA program, she is focusing on how politics, laws, and organizations directly impact people’s access to human rights and what can be reformed within governments to improve individual access to these rights. Morgan is a firm believer in the fact that governments have a responsibility to protect and provide for the rights of citizens and non-citizens alike and that they could be making a better effort to do so. After completion of the SJHR MA program, she plans to use all her past educational and work experience to earn her JD in Constitutional Law and a Ph.D. in Government so that she can help make important reformation efforts for human rights.
