Examine how the term “crisis” is used to frame the news coverage of immigration and immigrants. I am particularly interested in how crisis framing is employed in the news and other outlets to legitimize the nation-state, borders, and notions of national sovereignty, while simultaneously delegitimizing and decentering (im)migrants and other marginalized communities.
