Explore the politics of framing Asylum at the border and in the interior by news media and find ways to partner with many organizations (from the September 8 event and beyond) to work on uplifting how they are reframing asylum and to understand the politics of building an inclusive, responsive asylum system in the United States. A key question I am interested in (related to the border project too) is the contrasting the causes and consequences of “enforcement-centered” versus “human-centered” approaches to asylum, across different jurisdictions, locations, and asylum populations (e.g., unaccompanied minors).
